Its only drawback is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed – but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners may miss. Like the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean the objects without a pause. This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically. The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause scratches. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise. 3. Dreame X40 The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time. The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance. The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation. The app is simple and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings.
